Stop Global Warming: I found this website after watching an Oprah show about how slow our country is moving to reduce the carbon emissions that add more pollution to the atmosphere and increase the temperature of the planet. If you're interested in learning more and letting US government representatives know that this is an issue that needs to be addressed, please click here to visit their website and sign up for more information - StopGlobalWarming.Org Both Sides of the Tapestry, Nancy Richardson, Ed.D.: An extraordinary book about being raised by the victim of childhood abuse. Windows XP ClearType: If you're running Windows XP as your operating system, and you haven't heard of ClearType, you've got to at least let your eyes try it once! Use this link to run a Microsoft Applet and configure your computer to display ClearType: Trend Micro, in my opinion, makes the best antivirus software available today. It installs and plays well with every application I come across, updates itself automatically and catches every virus that comes to my computer. If you don't have up to date anti-virus software, you should seriously look into buying something that will protect you! I use and recommend Trend Micro products to my family, friends, and clients. If you need to clean a virus from your system right now you can go to Trend's Housecall page and run an immediate scan. Or you can download a 30 day evaluation copy of PC-Cillin here.
Marizpan Tribute: Betty and Hector DeSmet, the people who brought Marzipan to Carmel, CA sent me a small box of Hector's last batch of marzipan around Christmas 2002. They're retiring, after having sold their last bakery, near the Aquarium in Monterey. These people have been making this small almond paste candy, called marzipan, in the shape of small fruits for as long as I can remember. My folks used to take my brother and I to the beach and we'd walk around looking at the art studios and shops of Carmel. Then we'd go to the bakery. It was right up Ocean Ave. from the white sandy beach. I found Hector and Betty a few summers ago, while on vacation with my family. My son thought the green candy frogs tasted the best! Think of all the children and grown ups, whose lives they touched with their love, their bread, their candy strawberries, oranges, and potatoes... We have all been blessed by people like the DeSmets. If you know someone who touched your life like they continue to touch mine, please go to them and thank them while you still can. What ever happened to Lowell S.
